John L. Sessoms, 79, of Murfreesboro died Monday, June 1, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Sessoms of Murfreesboro; six sons, Anton V. Sessoms, Rudolph M. Gaskins and Frank Parker, all of Murfreesboro; John Sessoms Jr. and Kent Sessoms, both of Durham, and William Sessoms of Ahoskie; three daughters, Shelia D. Sessoms of Murfreesboro, Patricia Leary of Roxobel and Diane Johnson of Maryland; two brothers, Vann Sessoms and James Sessoms, both of Ahoskie; two sisters, Annie Green of Winton and Willie Mae Williams of Philadelphia, PA; 32 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 7 at New Haven Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, with the Rev. Lloyd Gatling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, are handling the arrangements.
