Ahoskie sweeps Cashie for District 7 title

WINDSOR – After losing their very first game of the tournament, the Ahoskie 10U All-Stars rallied to win the 2024 Tar Heel League District 7 Softball title here last night (Monday).

In the championship series, Ahoskie swept both games from the Cashie All-Stars by scores of 2-1 and 2-0.

Cashie defeated Ahoskie, 1-0, in last Thursday’s tournament opener. However, Ahoskie advanced through the losers bracket of this double-elimination tournament with four straight wins by shutout: 8-0 vs. Roanoke Valley, 10-0 vs. Camden, 14-0 vs. Perquimans, and 8-0 vs. Currituck.

Ahoskie advances to the 2024 Tar Heel League State Softball Tournament, set for July 18-21 in Benson.

Meanwhile, the District 7 softball tournament continues today (Tuesday) at Davis Park in Windsor. There, the 12U title will be on the line. Cashie defeated Perquimans last night (Monday) and will play for the championship at 8 pm tonight against either Perquimans or Gates. Perquimans plays Gates at 6 pm.
