AHOSKIE – Ripe for Revival, a North Carolina-based food box delivery company, is returning to Ahoskie.

The company, which operates a Mobile Market as a part of their nonprofit division, has forged a partnership with Ahoskie State Farm Agent Wendy Ruffin-Barnes to tackle the issue of food insecurity in the community. The market was previously in Ahoskie in August of last year.

Starting this Friday (June 14), the pay-what-you-can Ripe for Revival Mobile Market will be in Ahoskie every week with fresh produce, proteins, dairy, eggs, and other food products the community might need.

The brightly colored bus will be open from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday in the parking lot at the State Farm Insurance office, located at 101 South Academy Street. The market offers fresh produce, proteins, dairy, eggs, and other food products the community might need.

At Mobile Market check-out, shoppers are given a suggested total and the cashier will ask them to pay only what they are comfortable paying. For some shoppers, it may be all, some, none, or more (paying-it-forward). This allows shoppers to provide their families with nutritious, healthy food in a dignified manner.

Ripe for Revival works directly with farmers to bridge the gap between farm excess and food access.
