Any Northampton County resident who has an interest in improving the health and safety of communities in the county is urged to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment Survey by June 7.

The survey can be accessed electronically at northamptonhd.com or the Northampton County Health Department Facebook page.

Hard copies of surveys will be distributed in various locales throughout the county.

The surveys are confidential and take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

The Community Health Assessment is a foundation for improving and promoting the health and safety of a community. These assessments are conducted by health departments throughout North Carolina to identify issues that affect the health and safety of citizens and determine the availability of resources within the community to adequately address the issues that have been identified.

The Northampton County Health Department joined the regional program, Health ENC (Eastern North Carolina), for its Community Health Assessment needs. Health assessments are conducted to determine what health and safety issues have emerged and should be addressed in the

following years. To accomplish this, Northampton County Health Department is urging Northampton County residents to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment Survey.

Once all of the surveys have been collected, the information will be compiled and used to develop a community health improvement plan with community partners in the area.
