WOODLAND – Jeffrey Lynn Blanton, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on April 29, 1963, Jeffrey brought light into the lives of all who knew him. He was a member of New Life Church of Christ. In his free time, Jeffrey enjoyed listening to music, finding solace and joy in its melodies. He was also an avid football fan always rooting on his favorite Washington Redskins. Jeffrey cherished his family and loved to spend time with them.

Jeffrey was known for his incredible sense of humor. He had a gift for making others laugh, always aiming to bring joy to those around him. With a tender heart and a desire to see smiles on people’s faces, he never wanted to disappoint anyone. His infectious laughter and kind spirit touched the hearts of many. His love for laughter and creating happiness were evident in everything he did. Jeffrey will be remembered for his genuine and caring nature, his ability to bring laughter into any room, and his loving presence that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He worked at Meherrin Chemical in Severn for many years where he made many friends and long-lasting relationships. May his memory live on in the hearts of those he touched during his time with us.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Lawrence Blanton and Dorothy Harrison Blanton; his beloved wife, Angela “Angie” Wheeler Blanton; and a niece, Chasity Britt.

Jeffrey is survived by his three sisters, Barbara Blanton Outland and husband Freddie of Woodland, Donna Britt and husband Neil of Harrellsville, Lisa Echerd and husband Glenn of Roanoke Rapids; a brother, Johnnie Lawrence Blanton, Jr. of Woodland; three nieces, Vickie Soper of Woodland, Brittney Matthews and husband Frankie of Murfreesboro, and McKayla Brinkley and husband Austin of Aulander; nephew, Brad Outland and wife Jessica of Wilmington; his beloved feline companion, Callie Blanton; stepchildren, Brittany Powell, and Justin Campbell; along with numerous great nieces, great nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC, with the Rev. Eddie Echerd and Glenn Echerd presiding. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
