AHOSKIE, NC – Nancy Lowe Outlaw left us for a much better place Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the beautiful age of 102. She was one of 11 children born to the farming family of John Walter and Allie Gertrude Pearce Lowe in Bertie County on December 1, 1921. Nancy, also known as Nanny to her beloved family, and her husband Wayland moved to Ahoskie in 1946. Here they raised their three girls, Carolyn, Judy and Sandra, and their son, Scott.

Nancy spent many years working at the Ahoskie Department Store and at Eastern Office Equipment Co., both on Main Street.

Nancy is well known for her kindness, perseverance, wisdom, and talents. She cooked many yummy nutritious meals and desserts for her crowd, she sewed, quilted, decoupaged, made pottery and could pack a refrigerator, cooler and car like a pro.
