Shirley was a graduate of Windsor High School, attended East Carolina Teachers College (now ECU), Dell School of Medical Technology in Asheville, NC, and the Real Estate Institute.

Shirley dedicated 20 years of her life to the medical field before her son was born. After nine years she became a dedicated, respected real estate broker, twice earning recognition as a top ten broker in the nation in both 1988 and 2000.

She is survived by her son, Cedric Gray Pierce; her beloved daughter-in-law, Jessica Pierce; and her adoring granddaughters, Laura and Hannah Pierce.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the kindness and care given by her nieces, through her period of illness. We are forever grateful.
