MURFREESBORO – Chowan’s men’s basketball team saw their bench outscore Erskine in a lopsided Conference Carolinas win, 68-35, at home on Saturday afternoon.

Chowan’s reserves scored 52 points as most of the starters played less than 20 minutes in the contest.

The Hawks held Erskine to 16 points in the second half, their lowest total in a half this season.

Damerius Summers led the Hawks with 12 points and nine rebounds. Aaron Ross tallied 11 points and seven boards, while Dillon Harrison added 10 points.

Chowan (17-8 overall and 11-5 in the conference) has a week to prepare to take on Lees-McRae in the final regular season home contest at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24. Senior Day festivities will occur prior to tip-off.
