Ahoskie Chamber banquet, Feb. 22

AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce will conduct its annual banquet on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Roanoke-Chowan Community College.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with a reception and auction followed by dinner and the program at 6 p.m.

Tickets, on sale now at the Chamber office located at 310 South Catherine Creek Road, are $35 per person.

There are several levels of sponsorship available.

The Platinum level is $1,500 and includes eight tickets to the banquet, a banner, company’s name featured in the program, and sandwich board on the stage.

The Gold level is $1,000 and includes four tickets to the banquet, a banner, and the company’s name featured in the program.

The Silver level is $500 and includes two tickets and the company’s name featured in the program.

The featured speaker is George Vital, the Supervisory Community Liaison for North Carolina’s USDA Rural Development’s Rural Partner’s Network.

Vital began his career in 1984 with USDA Farmers Home Administration as an assistant supervisor. Since that time he has developed broad experience with the USDA as Deputy Rural Development Manager, State Civil Rights Manager, Single Family Housing Specialist, and Business and Utility Specialist.

In 1998, Vital was one of the initial loan specialists at the time of North Carolina’s establishment of the Rural Business Cooperative Service Division. He advanced to become a Senior Loan Specialist.

He later served (2010-17) as the Area Director for North Carolina’s USDA Rural Development’s Henderson office, which serves 17 counties.
