Born on February 22, 1944, in Hertford County, North Carolina, Carolyn lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication.

Carolyn’s interests were as vibrant as the flowers she tended to in her garden. Working amongst her beautiful blooms brought her immense joy. She also found solace in fishing and camping, relishing in the tranquility of nature’s embrace. Yet, above all else, her greatest joy came from her family and her beloved dog, Buck Shot. Carolyn possessed a unique talent for telling her husband, Clyde, exactly what to do, demonstrating her unwavering love and commitment to her marriage. As a member of the Growing Together Ministries, she found strength and solace in her faith. Her legacy lives on through her two sons, James “Jimmy” Lewis Dunlow, Jr. of Hamilton, NC, and William “Billy” Joseph Dunlow (Mia “Baby Girl”) of Tarboro, NC. Her daughter, Teresa Ann White (the late Dennis) of Askewville, NC, also carries her memory with pride. Carolyn also leaves behind her sister, Mary Alice White (her late husband, Wave) of Askewville, NC, and her brother, Paul Norman Holder (Gail) of South Carolina.
