Lady Rams collect pair of wins

AHOSKIE – Ridgecroft School’s varsity girls improved to 12-0 overall (2-0 in league play) by collecting two wins at home last week.

On Jan. 11, the Lady Rams used a pair of timely three-pointers from Hannah Slaughter in the fourth quarter while Makenzie Slaughter was clutch at charity stripe – swishing 4-of-5 free throws down the stretch – to highlight a 56-50 win over non-conference foe Crossroads Christian.

H. Slaughter finished with 22 points while M. Slaughter added 21 points. Kate Chamblee chipped in eight points and added 10 rebounds. Molly Brown and Camryn Taylor also had 10 rebounds each.

One night later (Jan. 12), the Lady Rams defeated Northeast Academy, 56-25, in a Tarheel Independent Conference game.

M. Slaughter (15), Chamblee (12), and H. Slaughter (8) led Ridgecroft offensively. Chamblee added eight rebounds while Brown collected seven caroms.

Hayes Hatcher led Northeast with a game-high 18 points.
