AHOSKIE – Ridgecroft School’s varsity girls extended their early season win streak to seven games here Saturday night where the Lady Rams routed Kenston Forest School, 63-33.

The game was part of the annual Doug Cobbs Basketball Tournament, named in honor of the now retired Ridgecroft coach and athletic director.

The Lady Rams wasted little time in honoring Cobb as they rolled to a 38-10 halftime lead.

Hannah Slaughter scored a game-high 20 points to lead Ridgecroft. Makenzie Slaughter (18) and Karley Jo Rose (10) also scored in double figures.

Kate Chamblee hauled down 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Rams on the boards. Molly Brown added 10 rebounds.

The Lady Rams also picked up another win last week in Courtland, VA where Ridgecroft used an 11-0 run in the first quarter to set the tone for a 42-23 victory at Southampton Academy.

  1. Slaughter and H. Slaughter led the way offensively with 16 and 10 points respectively. Chamblee added eight points while collecting a game-high nine rebounds.

The Lady Rams (7-0 overall) will hit the road for two games this week: Dec. 11 at Halifax Academy and Dec. 14 at Rocky Mount Academy.
