A Rich Square woman who Saturday damaged a drive-through window and threw a hot beverage at an employee working inside surrendered to authorities Monday evening.

Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Shane Guyant said 32-year-old Britney Nicole Flythe surrendered at the magistrate’s office in Halifax around 6 p.m.

Guyant said she assaulted an employee at a restaurant on Julian Allsbrook Highway by aggressively pulling open a locked drive-through window, causing damage. The incident is alleged to have occurred at around 9:30 a.m.

Guyant said surveillance footage shows Flythe throwing a hot beverage at the employee and then leaving the scene.

He said the motive is not clear.

Flythe faces charges of felony breaking and entering to terrorize, simple assault, and injury to property.

She received a $1,500 bond and November 30 court date.
