LEWISTON WOODVILLE – Details are very limited at this point, but the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office is currently on scene and in the early stages of a homicide investigation this afternoon (Wednesday) in Lewiston.

In a press release, Bertie Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin said the investigation is in the early stages.

“The incident is isolated and no further threat to the community,” Ruffin said.

He added that additional details would be released later today.
