WINDSOR – Our beloved Gloria Diane Miller Lynch passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at her home. She was born in Windsor, NC on November 19, 1949 to the late Willie Lewis Miller and Annie Bertha Hill Miller.

She was educated in the Bertie County School System and graduated from Southwestern High School. She continued her education at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC and received a Bachelor Degree in Business Education. She was a dedicated member of Sandy Point Missionary Baptist Church in Windsor, NC.

Gloria served as an instructor at Martin Community College for several years. She later retired from Bertie County Department of Social Services in 2007 where she served as a Social Worker with Child Protective Services. She was blessed to help many children during her service years. She was also a true friend to many and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, George Lynch Jr. of the home; three sons, Maurice Speller (Vernette) of Windsor, NC, Kevin G. Lynch (Cheryl) of Durham, NC, Antwone Lynch (Eboni) of Durham, NC; one daughter, Fatina Lynch of Williamston, NC; aunt, Beatrice Bond (Lewis) of Windsor, NC; 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Sandy Point Missionary Baptist Church in Windsor, NC.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Wilder’s Chapel of Windsor, Windsor, NC.

Wilder’s Chapel of Windsor, 222 S. Granville Street, Windsor, NC is in charge of the arrangements.
