AHOSKIE – The Town of Ahoskie will host the 2023 Tar Heel League District 7 Softball Tournament from Wednesday, June 28 through Sunday, July 2.

All games are scheduled at the Ahoskie Creek Park, located on West Memorial Drive.

“We are thrilled to host this tournament for the first time on our new ballfields,” said Mike Bradley, Ahoskie’s Fire Chief who doubles as the director of the town’s youth baseball and softball programs.

“We will welcome teams from all over northeastern North Carolina to our town,” Bradley added.

The tournament will consist of four age divisions: 8U, 10U, 12U, and 15U. It is a double elimination event.

Early round games (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) begin at 6 p.m. Games on Saturday and Sunday begin at 10 a.m.

“We’ll play about 40 games combined on our three fields over the course of the five-day tournament,” Bradley said. “We welcome our citizens and those throughout the local area to come out and see some great action.”

Parking, which will include the area adjacent to the large picnic shelter near the amphitheater, is free. Admission to the ballpark is $6 for ages 13-and-over and $4 for ages 12-and-under. Concessions will be offered for sale throughout the tournament.

“Hosting this large scale tournament will serve as a great way to promote our town,” Bradley said. “We’re hopeful that it will also serve as a boost to our economy as these teams and their families will look for places to enjoy a meal, shop, or buy gas.”
