Garysburg man charged with shooting into occupied vehicle

JACKSON – An investigation into shots being fired at a vehicle has ended with the arrest of a Garysburg man.

Carlton Ham Jr., age 34, was charged with one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, one count of misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, and one count of misdemeanor injury to personal property.

Ham turned himself into the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office on April 12 where the arrest warrants were served. He was placed under a $20,000 secured bond and appeared in court the next day (April 13) to answer the charges.

The investigation began on April 11 where the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call outside of Jackson.

Upon arrival and investigation by Sgt. L. Baker, it was determined to be a shooting involving a neighbor dispute where a vehicle was shot numerous times.
