WINDSOR – Bertie County 4-H is offering North Carolina grown strawberries for sale.

All orders are prepaid: $25 per flat (8 lbs.) or $15 per half flat (4 lbs.). Orders must be in by April 13 with delivery scheduled for May 16. See your local 4-H youth or call the Bertie County Cooperative Extension Service at 252 794-5317 and ask for Cindy.

Please note that good jellies and jams begin with proper canning. Join Liz Baker, Bertie County FCS agent, for basic canning 101 on April 29 from 9:30-11:30 am. This will be followed by a session on canning jams and jellies (featuring strawberries) on May 6 from 9:30-11:30 am. This will teach new and old preservers canning and food safety protocols.
