AULANDER – Robert Craig Castello, age 86, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the ECU Health Medical Center of Greenville, NC, with his family by his side.

Mr. Castello was born in Bertie County, NC, on December 7, 1936, a son of the late Zeddie and Lessie Casper Castello. Affectionately known to many as “The Milkman,” Craig worked as a route salesman for Maola Milk for many years, and later as a salesman for N. S. Godwin & Son. Craig was a fun-loving man with an infectious smile that enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis, Sidney, Rudolph, and Carl, and his sister, Frances.

Left to cherish Craig’s memory is his devoted wife, Linda Bland Castello; two daughters, Karen C. Ward and husband, Edward, that Craig considered his son, of Ahoskie, NC, and Debbie C. Daughtry of Greenville, NC; two granddaughters, Meagan Ward and Mallory Ward, both of Greenville, NC; and a brother, Gomer Castello of Aulander, NC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. prior to the services at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC. A celebration of life service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service Chapel. – Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Matthew Miles, and Cecil Hollomon officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie.
