AHOSKIE – Lois Pearce Horne, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Pine Forest Rest Home in Potecasi, NC.

Lois was born on July 4, 1933 to James Pearce and Elnora Copeland Pearce in Ahoskie, NC. She devoted her life to taking care of her children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Lois spent her life in numerous administrative assistant positions, such as, Northampton County Department of Social Services, Hertford County Health Department, and Gates County Health Department. She was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, James, and Stanley Pearce; and sisters, Marie Pearce Phelps, and Gwendolyn Pearce Mizelle.

Lois is survived by her son, Keith Horne of Ahoskie; her daughter, Valerie Horne of Petaluma, CA; her granddaughter, Jessica Horne Pierce and husband Gray of Cofield; two grandsons, Jacob Phelps and wife Katy of Nampa, ID, and Daniel Horne of Ayden, NC; great-grandchildren, Jared Phelps of Nampa, ID, Hannah and Laura Pierce of Cofield, Teddy and Alice Horne of Tokyo, and their mother, Yuko Horne; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Ahoskie Cemetery, with Rev. Anita Thompson officiating.
