Ridgecroft varsity teams win at NEA

LASKER – Ridgecroft School swept both of its varsity games here Friday night at Northeast Academy in Tarheel Independent Conference basketball action.

In the girls game, McKenzie Slaughter poured in a game-high 22 points to lead the Lady Rams to a 57-20 win.

Leading 15-4 after the opening period of play, Ridgecroft sealed the win by outscoring their hosts 24-4 in the second quarter to seize a commanding 39-8 halftime lead.

Hayes Hatcher led Northeast with eight points.

In the varsity boys game, Ridgecroft also used an offensive outburst in the first half to claim the win. The Rams led 47-12 at halftime en route to a 68-29 victory.

Nacir Lewis scored 13 points to lead Ridgecroft.

Dawson Vann tallied seven points to top the Northeast scoring.

Northeast won both junior varsity games.

Arland Davis (21 points) and Lena Taylor led the way in the jayvee girls game that Northeast won, 36-24.

Kendall Harrell paced Ridgecroft with eight points.

Jake Parks (19 points) and Camden White (10) each scored in double figures to lead Northeast to a 37-16 victory in the jayvee boys game.

Arion Pume paced Ridgecroft with six points.

Northeast Academy will be back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 11 when they host Pungo Christian School.
