AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Police Department is actively searching for two suspects who robbed EZ Pass Tobacco and Vape at gunpoint here Saturday evening (Jan. 7) and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Despite shots being fired during the course of the robbery, no one was injured, according to Ahoskie Police Chief Jimmy Asbell.

Asbell said his department was notified of the incident at 6:48 p.m. He added that the ensuing investigation revealed that two Black males entered the front door of the store, located in the Ahoskie Commons Shopping Center on Memorial Drive. Both were dressed in dark colored clothing and each man was wearing a face covering.

“One of the two suspects displayed a weapon towards the store clerk,” Asbell said. “After taking the money, both men fled out the rear door of the business.”

Asbell encouraged anyone who was at the shopping center at that time and saw or heard anything related to this crime to contact the Ahoskie Police Department at 252-332-5011.
