AHOSKIE – Judy Peacock Greene, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022 with her family by her side.

She was born in Edgecombe County, NC, on May 22, 1942, a daughter of the late Rev. C. B. and Margaret Saunders Peacock. Judy was a devoted employee of Alamac Knitting Mills and Hertford County Public Schools. She enjoyed playing the piano, and was an excellent cook, well known for her scrumptious carrot cakes. Judy was a good homemaker and kept her yard filled with beautiful flowers. She was currently a member of Hickory Chapel Free Will Baptist Church

Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brothers, C. Bruce Peacock, Jr., and Ronald Lee Peacock; her sister, Inez Faye Peacock; a stepdaughter, Vickie G. Harden; and a step granddaughter, Kelly Cutright.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, William Ernest Greene; her daughter, Andrea Cooke Peede and husband Ronnie of Rocky Mount, NC; her son, Kenneth Wayne Cooke and wife Michelle of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Daniel (Elizabeth) Peede of Nashville, NC,  Joshua (Sarah) Peede of Wilson, NC, Ryan (Emily) Cooke of Goldsboro, NC, Kyle (Chloe) Cooke of Goldsboro, NC, and Rebecca (Andy) Bone of Rocky Mount, NC; great grandchildren, Esther Peede, Anna Peede, Ella Bone, Lydia Peede, Lucas Peede, Adam Bone, Benjamin Peede, Lucas Cooke, and Henry Peede; and a brother-in-law, Clarence (Nancy) Greene of Conway, SC.  Also surviving is her stepdaughter, Lisa Greene of Ahoskie, NC, and step grandchildren, Amanda Cutright, and Aaron Cutright; and eight step great grandchildren

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, prior to services.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, with Rev. Jim Skippers and Rev. Daniel Peede officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens., Ahoskie.
