MURFREESBORO – Patricia Kelly Burke, age 88, of Forest Circle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.

A native of England, Patricia was born on October 28, 1934 to Thomas Kelly and Gwladys Lucas Ley in Caerphilly, Wales. Pat was a devoted stay at home mom that always took great care of her family. She was a fabulous cook, enjoyed sewing, upholstery, watching the English shows of PBS, however above all, Pat loved to sit down with a book and read for hours and hours, gathering as much knowledge as she could. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed by all that know her.

Along with her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Philip Burke; a sister, Jean Burris; and a brother, Joey Spires.

Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Jacquie Burke Gunnells and husband David of Murfreesboro, and Denise Burke of Kernersville, NC; a son, Steve Burke and wife Donna of Burlington, NC; three granddaughters, Megan Vinson and husband Jared of Conway, Brigett Gunnells and friend, Vance Graham of Murfreesboro, Shannon Burke of Burlington, NC; grandson, Kevin Burke of Graham, NC; great granddaughters, Layla Vinson, and Vera Vinson; and a brother, Tony Ley of Columbia, SC.

The family will receive friends at the home at any time.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. John Porter, officiating.
