CU golf finishes in second place

AHOSKIE – The Chowan University men’s golf team placed second at the Beechwood Invite after the 36-hole competition on Monday at the Beechwood Country Club.
Chowan carded scores of 336 and 320.
Tyler Darnell played consistent golf on the day finishing seventh overall after a pair of 79s. Darnell carded six birdies on the day, including four in the final round.
Ruben Gomez-Aranda finished one stroke behind his teammate for eighth place after an opening round 80 to finish with a 79.
Patrick Sullivan erased his tough opening round 88 to finish with an 81 to finish tied for 12th.
Jaxon Eck finished 14th overall with an 81 after an opening round 89.
Adam Lankford finished with a 90-82 to place 17th, while Bryce Simms tallied an 89-85 to finish 18th. Michael Smith finished with 100-99 to place 21st.
Chowan continues their fall slate as the Hawks will compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invite at Catawba Springs CC in Hickory on Oct. 24-25.
