RICH SQUARE – Freddie Gatling was born on February 23, 1950 to the late Archie and Pauline Smith Gatling in Ahoskie North Carolina. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Freddie fought a good fight and transitioned to be with his heavenly father in the wee hours of the morning on October 13, 2022 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Yvonne Gatling; one daughter, Cheryl Gatling Tyler; and two sons, Warren Gatling, and Amad Debreaux.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Wilder’s Funeral Chapel in Rich Square, NC from 4-6 p.m.

A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Rich Square, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Clarence Myrick officiating.

Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., 921 South Main Street, Rich Square, NC is handling the arrangements for the Gatling family.
