HARRELLSVILLE – Peggy Jo Holloman, age 83, passed away on August 13, 2022 at the ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Holloman was born in Bertie County, NC, on June 17, 1939, a daughter of the late Wilson Mitchell and Evelyn Freeman Myers. Peggy was a devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed the outdoors, working alongside her husband on the farm, growing vegetables for her family and friends and working in her flowers. Peggy enjoyed feeding and watching her hummingbirds and the smell of sun-dried laundry and whenever possible, would hang her clothes on the clothesline to dry in the sun and breeze. She was a kind soul and will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, J. E. Holloman in January; a sister, Mary Evelyn Spooner; and a great granddaughter, Layla Grace Holloman.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Johnnie Joseph Holloman and wife, Brenda of Colerain, NC; two granddaughters, Kristen Leigh (Brandon “Bubba”) Barnett of Trenton, NC, Maryjo Elizabeth Sadler of Harrellsville, NC; a grandson, Aaron Mitchell (Brandee) Holloman of Harrellsville, NC; three great granddaughters, Kaileigh Buck of Tenton, NC,  Kolbi Buck of Trenton, NC, and Rylee Grace Holloman of Harrellsville, NC; three great grandsons, Caleb Buck of Trenton, NC, Cutler Buck of Trenton, NC, and Dalton Grayson Harrell of Harrellsville, NC; a brother, Wilson (Cynthia) Myers Jr. of Sanford, NC; and a sister, Lorna Longston of Charleston, SC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Harrellsville Cemetery, Harrellsville, NC, with Roger McDaniel II officiating.
