RICH SQUARE – Gwendolyn Reinhardt Esmaeel Lassiter, age 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Rich Square Health Care Center of Rich Square, NC

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Lassiter; her son, Adam Esmaeel; two stepdaughters, Bailey Lassiter, and Amanda Lassiter; her devoted uncle, Dr. Walter Raleigh Parker Jr.; her sister, Mary Iva Reinhardt Gray, and many other caring friends and family members.

Born in Suffolk, VA to Walter Ramseur Reinhardt and Gwendolyn Parker Reinhardt, Gwendolyn grew up in Woodland, NC, and later graduated from East Carolina University. In addition to investing in children as an elementary school teacher for many years, she was fondly known for her bright smile, infectious laughter, appreciation of music, and love of the East Carolina Pirates. In the next life, she is joined by her late son, Charles Water Cothren, where they are happily together again.

Gwendolyn’s memorial service will be on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, NC at 2 p.m. with Dr. J Brabben officiating, and a brief gathering at Woodland Baptist Church immediately following.
