MURFREESBORO – Student-athletes here at Chowan University excel on the playing surfaces and in the classroom as 29 student-athletes were inducted into the 2022 class of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, the seventh class since the inception for the Hawks in 2015-16.
In the seven years, the Hawks have inducted 183 student-athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma.
“It has been a great honor to be a part of each of the seven induction classes,” said Meredith Long, Deputy Athletic Director. “It is a true testament to the work ethic and dedication that student-athletes show in the classroom, with their sport, and all their campus community involvement. We are proud of every single one of our student-athletes, this honor society showcases our top tier academic achievers.”
To be inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, student-athletes have to maintain at least a 3.4 GPA and who are junior or senior in the classroom. Those student-athletes that were eligible were inducted during the 2021-22 Athletics Blue Carpet Awards Ceremony.
