AULANDER – Mary Ann Odom Castelloe, age 84, of Millennium, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville, NC.

Mary Ann was born on April 6, 1938, one of three and the only girl born to Wayland Odom and Nellie Cooke Odom Price in Bertie County, North Carolina. She was a true Christian lady that was a devoted member of Connaritsa Baptist Church and enjoyed going as long as her health permitted. She retired from Copeland Drug Store where she spent many years as a Pharmacy Technician. She loved scrolling facebook and keeping up with loved ones. Above all, she loved her family dearly, especially her daughter, Carla and was so proud of her son-in-law, Brad. She would always say, “I love my family”. She was loved by many friends and family and will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Floyd Castelloe, and her daughter, Julie Ann Castelloe.

Left to cherish Mary Ann’s memory is her daughter, Carla C. Ambrose and husband Brad of Ahoskie; two brothers, William Odom of Hopewell, VA, and Robert Odom of Rocky Mount, NC; two grandsons, Brandon Ambrose and wife Olivia of Aulander, and Derek Ambrose and wife Jennifer of Sharpsburg, NC; three great-grandsons, Braiden, Bradley Ray, and Cole Ambrose; a great-granddaughter, Aubreigh Ambrose; a very special friend, Victor “Pic” Williams of Ahoskie, NC; along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home of her daughter.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Pastor Greg Hurdle and Pastor Phil Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Aulander Cemetery.
