COFIELD – Lorraine Eloise Archer Lau, age 93, of Archer Town Road, passed away peacefully on Friday Evening, January 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Lau was born on May 8, 1928 to Luther Archer and Bessie Brown Archer in Hertford County, North Carolina. Lorraine was a member of The Carpenter Shop Church. She was devoted to taking care of her family. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren especially babysitting her grandchildren. Lorraine loved her hometown of Archertown, having made many great memories during her 93 years. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis Harold Lau; a son, Toby Archer; a grandson, David Miller; a great-grandson, Zachary Stoyer; sisters, Eula Stoudt, Melba Payne, and Cordelle Polivinski; and brothers, Bernard, David, Clinton, Thomas, and Richard Archer.
Lorraine is survived by her two sons, Thomas Lau of Cofield, David Lau and wife Maritza of Harrisburg, PA; two daughters, Darlene Schreck and husband Jimmy of Cofield, and Barbara Lau-Austin and husband Donald of Aulander; four grandsons, John Archer and wife Samilla, Tony Archer and wife Rosalva, Jason Schreck and wife April, David Lau Jr. and wife Suzanne; five granddaughters, Danielle Archer, Amber Davidson and husband Buddy, Allison Slade ad husband Carlos, Brandi Peroney and husband Tyler, and Alissa Lau, and Maribelle Archer; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Cruz of Brandon, FL; and two special friends, Ernestine and Fannie.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 6-6:45 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service with a celebration of life service to follow at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, with Pastor Wallace Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Harrisburg, PA in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 7, 2022.
