LAKE WORTH, FL – Sandra Elaine Hicks DiMattina, age 74, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 in Florida.

Mrs. DiMattina was born on December 20, 1946 to the late Kermit Hicks and Helen Holbert Hicks. Sandra cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her church, puzzles, mainly crossword and scrabble, reading, and honey buns. She also enjoyed Sci-Fi and Christmas was her favorite holiday with all the different ornaments. Sandra was loved by all that knew her and will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea DiMattina; sisters, Linda Bunch, and Shirley Hicks; and brother, Butch Hicks.

Sandra is survived by her beloved husband, Ernest; three sons, Ernest DiMattina of Murfreesboro, NC, Mark DiMattina and wife Laura of Pasadena, MD, and Eric DiMattina and wife Ximena of Manasses, VA; two daughters, Nichole DiMattina of Lakeworth, FL, and Sonya Simpson and husband Wayne of Radford, VA; sister, Vicky Owenby of Hendersonville, NC; two granddaughters, Elizabeth DiMattina, and Alexandra Simpson; three grandsons, Ray Williams, Diego DiMattina, and Kevin DiMattina.

The Vigil will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Service, Murfreesboro, NC from 6-7:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Ahoskie, with Father Robert Schmid, Pastor. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, NC.
