AHOSKIE – Alton Lee Mizelle, 88, of Overton Street North, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. He was born in Bertie County April 8, 1933 to the late Gurney D. and Bertie Miller Mizelle. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Mizelle. Alton retired from Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital as the Director of Planning and Engineering. He was a member of Hickory Chapel Baptist.

A graveside service will be held Saturday July 31, 2021 at 2 p.m. in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor. Rev. Jim Skipper will officiate. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.

Survivors include his wife, Corrine Castellow Mizelle of the home; daughter, Natalie Mizelle Hormuth (Jason Howell) of Como; son, Dale Mizelle of Winterville; sister, Mary Lynn Hoggard of Windsor; grandchildren, Braelin, Paterson, Gavin Mizelle, Kelly Morin; great grandchild, Payton Morin.
