LEWISTON WOODVILLE – The 4th annual CHROME Regional Ag Expo will be held Wednesday, June 30 at the Peanut Belt Research Station in Lewiston.

The day will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. Tours start at 9 a.m. and run until 12 noon. Corporate sponsors will be on hand to meet with growers and share their latest product innovations.

Attendees are urged to register by calling any of the participating NC Cooperative Extension offices by June 29.

Attendees will get a first-hand look at some of the latest concepts in agriculture. Tour stops will feature early season management in peanuts, narrow row spacing along with starter fertilizer materials in corn, cotton fertility innovations, fungicide use in soybeans and precision ag focusing on planter setup and adjustment.

The CHROME Expo is a cooperative effort between Bertie, Northampton, Halifax and Hertford counties and sponsored through NC Cooperative Extension.

“It is a unique opportunity focusing on problems and challenges specific to our four-county region,” said Billy Barrow, Bertie County Extension Director. “With similar soils, crops, climate and resources its natural to combine efforts to address questions specific to this and surrounding areas.”
