GATESVILLE – Henry Grant Freeman, 85, died on May 10, 2021 at his residence. Born in February 1936 to Willie “Boss” and Della Bond Freeman who preceded him in death.

He worked for many years on Carter’s Farm in Hobbsville, NC. He worked for 15 plus years with Southern States in Chesapeake, VA before retirement.

He leaves to cherish his memories seven daughters, Evelyn Saunders (Curtis) of Gates, NC, June Privott of Norfolk, VA, Della Freeman of Ahoskie, NC, Lois Campbell of Hampton, VA, Linda Freeman of the home, Gloria Freeman of Abu Dhabi, UAE, and Gracie Freeman of Portsmouth, VA; one sister, Rose Nowell of Sunbury, NC; two brothers, Gerald Freeman (Shirley) of Waterbury, Conn., and Ernest Freeman of Tulsa, OK; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Henry Freeman, Jr.; one great granddaughter, Rihanna Saunders; two sisters, Grace Mitchell and Evelyn Roscoe; two brothers, Willie and Eddie Freeman; and two nephews that worked for him faithfully until their passing, Frankie and William Arline.

Funeral services were held on May 18, 2021 at Lebanon Grove Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Dennis Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, Gatesville, handled the arrangements.
