PENDLETON – Felicia Byrum Hollingsworth 59, of Pendleton, NC passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 21, 2021.

She was born on October 08, 1961 to Tommy Daniel Byrum Sr. of Conway NC and the late Sandra Farrow Byrum Brown of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Ms. Hollingsworth (FEEF), retired from Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC where she worked as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Athletics and Coordinator of the Membership Service for the Brave Hawks Club, for 10 years. She could also be found picking out suits and ties while working with her stepfather at Freid’s Men’s Wear, formally located in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Her favorite hobby was baking and cooking delicious goodies for her family and friends and knitting prayer blankets for those going through hard times.

She was a selfless, loving, caring, thoughtful, amazing and strong woman. She fought a 10-year long battle of Breast Cancer, where she refused to let it win. She never gave up and was an inspiration to anyone that knew her, whether young or old.

Felicia is survived by her son, Jason Burton Ricks (wife Tish) of Conway NC; daughter, Jamie Lynn Taylor and her husband Michael “Opie” Taylor of Murfreesboro NC; her grandchildren, Sarah Kate and Karson Ricks, and Trenton Taylor; her father, Tommy D. Byrum, Sr and his wife Linda of Pendleton, NC; her stepfather, Robert L. Brown Jr. of Roanoke Rapids NC; her siblings, Tommy D. Byrum Jr and his wife Kim of Pendleton NC, Kevin W. Byrum and his wife Susan of Pendleton NC, Craig D. Byrum and his fiancé Crystal of Creeksville NC; Melissa N. Jacobs and her husband James Jr. of Rocky Mount, and Shawn C. Dickerson and his fiancé Deatrice Harrell of Conway NC; many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Robert’s Chapel Cemetery in Pendleton NC with Rev. Willie McLawhorn officiating. Per Felicia’s request, please wear Pink (or any color other than black that you wish).

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Jackson, NC from 6-7:30 p.m.

Felicia loved her flowers, however, if you wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the FEEF Scholarship Endowment Fund at Chowan University, C/O The Office of Advancement, One University Place, Murfreesboro, NC 27855. Felicia Hollingsworth, her family and friends have established the FEEF Scholarship Endowment at Chowan to assist young people in their pursuit of Christian higher education degree.
