ELIZABETH CITY – Albemarle Regional Health Services (ARHS) has developed a registration form on its website for individuals to be able to register for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The registration form can be found at https://www.arhs-nc.org/information/COVID-19/vaccines/

In an effort to document actual demand and need for COVID-19 vaccine throughout the region, ARHS will be collecting names through the web form focusing only on those individuals 75 years of age and older.

At this time, ARHS is collecting names and contact information for each county for vaccine allocations for the week of January 19-22. ARHS serves eight counties: Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, and Perquimans.

ARHS will provide weekly updates on its website. This site will also be used to collect names so they can schedule clinics based on federal and state weekly allocations of the vaccine, phase and target for the following week.

ARHS has set the allocation for each county and the first individuals signed up and registered through this link will be contacted to receive the vaccine. Locally, Bertie County has been allocated 300 doses; Gates County will have 200 doses, and Hertford County is assigned 400 doses.

Individuals, ages 75-and-over, can only register for one county. If you register for more than one county, your name will be removed.

COVID-19 second dose vaccine clinics will be scheduled for the last week of January and the first week of February. Specific dates and times will be announced soon.

“ARHS hopes that the online registration form will help meet the demand for the COVID-19 vaccines across the region,” states R. Battle Betts, Jr., health director. “We encourage Phase 1b group 1 individuals 75 and older to register so we can ensure you have access to the vaccine.

“We know individuals in this target group may not have access to web or email; however, they can call our offices for assistance,” Betts added. “We also ask that neighbors help neighbors. Please reach out to your family and friends who are in this age group and help them with the registration process.”
