WINTON – The Hertford County Tax Collector’s Office will be open to the public during normal business hours (8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday). This operational change goes into effect immediately.

In addition to reopening the Tax Collector’s Office to the public, Hertford County offers multiple payment options for tax bills. They can pay online through the county’s website, by mail, or using the drop box in the parking lot at the Government Center/Courthouse. However, if you prefer to pay your tax bill in person, you may pay by credit/debit card, check or cash.

The only upcoming exceptions pertaining to the hours of operation are Friday, Jan. 8 with offices closing at 12:30 pm and Monday, Jan. 18 (closed all day) in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
