Kenny had a quiet, but sure faith in the Lord. He was a member of Savage’s United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his relatives and friends from Winterville and Gates County and was an honorary member of the Drum Hill Hunt Club. Kenny’s love of Gates County was evident in his service as a county commissioner in his early years. He also served his neighbors and community through his memberships in the Elk Lodge and Moose Lodge of Suffolk, VA, where he also enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Scott Buck; his children, Kevin (Mitzi) Buck, Carol Anne (Chuck) Hankinson, and Keith Buck; his step-children, Charles (Tina) Scott, Michael Scott and Niya and Debra (Mark) Loudin; his grandchildren, Caroline Hankinson and Parker, Kevin Scott and Brittany, Christopher (Angela) Scott, Michael Scott Jr. and Dale, Amber Scott, Ryan Scott, BJ (Amy) Phippins and Bryan Phippins; his great-grandchildren, Arabella Scott, Brooke and Claire Phippins; his brothers, Mallory (Ruby) Buck, Joe (Dette) Buck, and Ronald Gene Buck and friend; his sister Sandra (Roy) Jordan; and his many nieces and nephews.

During his illness, Kenny was blessed to receive excellent care from his wife, Nancy, and his nurses, Joan Long, Linda Bryant, Lakea Pittman, Nikita Jones, Patricia McNair and other itinerant nurses as well as Hospice care.
