CONWAY – Two juveniles are reportedly recovering after being injured in a shooting here Thursday evening.

Conway Police Chief Jimmy Bracy said the two victims were airlifted to a medical facility in the aftermath of a shooting that occurred around 6:20 p.m. at the Conway Park Apartments, located off Phillips Hill Road.

“As of today, both victims are recovering; that’s a good sign,” Bracy told the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald late this afternoon (Friday).”

Bracy said he was unable to provide key information at this stage of the investigation, to include if the victims were inside or outside of an apartment or if the incident was a drive-by shooting.

“We do have some leads that we’re checking in to at this point, but we have not made any arrests at this time,” he said.

Bracy said he is being assisted in the investigation by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina SBI.

“Together we worked this investigation Thursday night and have been on it all day today,” he noted. “I appreciate the help from our Sheriff’s Office and the SBI. When you have a small department like ours, it’s gratifying to know there are other resources available to assist an investigation.”

Bracy encouraged anyone with information to share about this case to either call his office (252-585-1155), the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office at 252-534-2611, or Northampton County Crime Stoppers at 252-534-1110.

“You can report anonymously; we don’t need your name, just your information,” Bracy stressed. “Anything you can share with us, no matter how small you think it is, may be exactly what we need to solve this case.”
