COLERAIN – Our loved one, Florence Harrell Cullipher, age 79, of East River Road, Colerain, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 14, 2020.
Mrs. Cullipher was born on August 16, 1941 to Emmett Maxie and Merlie Harrell Harrell in Gates County, NC. Florence worked as a telephone operator and later as an office manager for independent insurance agencies. Soon after moving to Colerain, she began teaching youth and adult Sunday school classes for many years. A wonderful mother and wife, her faith was also exhibited by her time as caregiver to both her mother and mother-in-law.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mills Harrell, and sisters, Faye and Betty Harrell.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Ed; daughter, Stephanie Cullipher Eagle and husband Mark of Boone, NC; two sons, Stephen Harrell Cullipher of Farmville, NC, and Sterling Edward Cullipher and wife Lynn of Kinston, NC; two granddaughters, Sara Eagle Leggett and husband Kyle, both military members, and Laura Beth Eagle of Myrtle Beach, SC; three step-grandchildren; Amanda Hafenmaier of Mebane, NC, Derek Hafenmaier of Graham, NC, and Morgan Hafenmaier of Kinston, NC. Also surviving are a sister, Myrtle Davis of Murfreesboro, NC; brothers, Stanley Harrell of Mississippi, and Richard Harrell of Winton, NC; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 16, 2020, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Eure, NC, with Pastor Gary Saffell officiating.
