AULANDER, NC – Ledie Mustain “Jack” Brinkley, Jr., age 78, of Jackie Brinkley Road, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at his home.

Jack was born on March 3, 1942 to Ledie Mustain Brinkley, Sr. and Eva Brown Brinkley in Ahoskie, NC. He was a gentle, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was devoted member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church. Jack was an avid outdoorsman that loved to quail hunt and had a deep passion for agriculture. He was a member of the Soil and Water Conservation District, the FSA, the North Carolina Peanut Growers Association and served on the National Peanut Board for many years.

Jack cherished his family most of all and was especially proud that his family had been North Carolina Farm Family of the Year previously. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Along with his parents Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Brinkley.

Jack is survived by his loving wife Peggy; his son, Clint Brinkley and wife Stephanie of Aulander; his daughter, Ginger Brinkley Thornton of Wilmington; and grandchildren, Alex Brinkley of Aulander, Austin Brinkley and his fiancée MaKayla Davis of Aulander, Fate Thornton of Wilmington, and Alice Thornton of Wilmington.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Ahoskie United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jason Villegas, officiating. Due to COVID-19 it is a requirement of the church to wear face coverings and keep 6′ distance. We thank you for following their request.
