NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Lawrence Eley Weaver, Sr. died on Friday, October 30, 2020.

He was born on September 21,1937 in Hertford County, NC. He was married to Mary M. Watson who preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn two children, Phyllis M. Weaver of Clayton, NC and Lawrence Eley Weaver, Jr. of Rockingham, VA; four grandchildren, Joshua Justice and Joseph Justice of Clayton, NC, and Noah Weaver and Rebekah Weaver of Rockingham, VA; three brothers, William Rogers Weaver of Compton, CA, Chester Weaver of Hampton, VA, and Jesse Lee Weaver of Murfreesboro, NC; one sister, Linda D. Weaver of Ahoskie, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral arrangements are by Cooke Brothers Funeral Chapel of Newport News, VA where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Livestreaming is available for service at www.cookebros.com.

Burial will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, VA.
