PETERSBURG, VA – The daughter of Alonzo Gatling and Virginia Curry Ruffin Gatling was born February 2, 1962 in Ahoskie, NC. Ms. Regina Gatling departed this life on Monday, October 19, 2020 at home in Petersburg, VA.
She received her education through the Hertford County Public School System. Regina was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Winton, NC.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Alonzo and Virginia Gatling; brother, Donnell Gatling, and sister, Evon McMillan.
Left to cherish her memories: three children, Terrell Gatling of Raleigh, NC, and Niesha Gatling and Derrick Gatling, both of Ahoskie, NC; and nine grandchildren. Regina was the youngest of nine children and seven are left to cherish precious memories: four sisters, Gloria Daye of New Jersey, and Etherine Gatling, Sibyl Gatling, and Roxanna Gatling, all of Ahoskie, NC; and three brothers, James Ruffin, David Ruffin, and Joseph Gatling. Regina also leaves memories to a host of niece, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until the hour of the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Wilder’s Funeral Home, 921 S. Main Street, Rich Square, NC. The interment will follow at the Gatling Family Cemetery.
