WINDSOR – Thomas Earl Northcott, Sr., age 81, of Colerain, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Three Rivers Health & Rehab of Windsor, NC.

Mr. Northcott was born on August 29, 1939 to Joseph Earl and Johnnie Louise Perry Northcott in Bertie County, NC. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that enjoyed spending time with his family. He worked doing many tasks, from being a mail carrier, a mechanic, selling Federal Crop Insurance, working at the ASCS office, to farming the land. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, Long Branch Gun Club, and Trap Volunteer Fire Department where he once served as Chief. Thomas was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Lena Frances Northcott.

Left to cherish Thomas’s memory is his three sons, Tommy Northcott, Joe Northcott and wife Sandy, and David Northcott and wife Pam; his daughter, Lynette Jernigan and husband Rev. Preston, all of Colerain; five granddaughters, Micheala Brinkley and husband Neal of Colerain, Anna Cseko of Windsor, Meredith Jernigan-Plata and husband Richard Plata of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Kimberly Northcott of Colerain, and Mandy Pierce of Ahoskie; three grandsons, Paul Northcott of Colerain, Matt Pierce and wife Brittany of Merry Hill, and Mason Pierce and wife Holly of Merry Hill; two great grandsons, Brayden Cseko, and Waverly Brinkley; two great granddaughters, Heidi Pierce, and Raelynn Pierce; a sister, Nancy Potter and husband Benjamin of Brevard, NC; two nieces, Betsy Potter-Martin and husband Brian Martin of Greer, SC, Rebecca Potter-Macrea and husband Austin Macrea of Ithaca, NY; and a brother-in-law, Sal Sortino of Colerain.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, NC, with Rev. Preston Jernigan officiating.
