COLERAIN – Frank “Cheyenne” Sumner Minton, 68, of Meadow Road, died Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville with his family by his bedside. He was born in Hertford County May 13, 1952 to the late Linton and Mattie Slaughter Minton. He was a humble person who led a quiet life. A loving son who faithfully assisted his parents with their daily needs until their deaths. He was a retired farmer and employee of the NC State Department of Transportation. Frank loved hunting and fishing, training horses and harness racing. He was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church and the US Trotting Association.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday October 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie. Rev. Preston Jernigan will officiate.

Survivors include his sisters, Elouise M Jernigan of Colerain, Carol M Davidson of Roanoke Rapids; nephews, Kevin Jernigan of Aulander, and Melvin Davidson of Wilmington DE., Michael Davidson of Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
