NEA jayvees rout Lawrence in opener

Apparently, Northeast Academy answered, yes.

In the COVID-19 delayed season opener here Thursday evening, the Northeast jayvees started quickly en route to a 52-8 win over Lawrence Academy.

The Eagles led 32-0 at halftime.

Eagles quarterback Dalton Vann had a big game as he accounted for four touchdowns. He rushed for a game-high 177 yards and three touchdowns while adding a 40-yard scoring strike to Jayden Watts.

Dawson Vann contributed 84 rushing yards and one touchdown. Heath Hobbs also scored a rushing touchdown.

Defensively, Nathan Trevino had 10 tackles and an interception. Dalton Vann had four tackles.

Northeast Academy (1-0) will visit Bethel on Thursday, Oct. 1 in their next game.

Lawrence Academy (0-1) will also be on the road on Oct. 1 with a game at Community Christian.
