AHOSKIE – Carlton “Bill” Ovie Parker Jr., age 85, of Baker Street, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Bill was born on April 30, 1935 to Carlton Ovie Parker, Sr. and Marguerite Ayscue Parker in Bertie County, NC. Bill began his career with Coke a Cola Co. in Kelford, NC before moving over to the Pepsi Cola Co. Upon retiring from Pepsi Cola, he worked as a transport truck driver for Eastern Fuels. He was a friendly person who loved talking to people and was known as a jokester among friends and family that he enjoyed spending time with. Bill had a special relationship with his grandmother, Nora, who he loved dearly and lived with for several years, enjoying her cooking on a wood cook stove, especially her peach flapjacks. He was fond of animals and had a special dog, Nicki, who would ride with him on his truck. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Willoughby Parker, and sisters, Mary Edna Summers, and Nora Elizabeth Parker.

Carlton is survived by his son, Ronald L. Parker of Ahoskie, NC; sisters, Genevieve “Jenny” Buchanan of Sandston, VA, Jean Edith Emory of Hopewell, VA, Phillippia “Phil” Pullen of Frederick, VA and Patricia Scott of Mineral, VA.

There will be no services at this time per family’s wishes.
