AHOSKIE, NC – Ernest Clarence “Buster” Morris, Jr., age 73, passed away on April 26, 2020 at his home in Ahoskie, NC, surrounded by his family.

“Buster” was born in Bertie County, NC on July 14, 1946, a son of the late Ernest C. and Mary Elizabeth Harrell Morris. His life consisted of working many long hours as a floor sander, which he thoroughly enjoyed and took great pride in his work. Although he loved working, his family was the true love of his life. He will be missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.

Besides his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Eickhoff Morris; two sons, Paul Wayne Morris, and Phillip James Morris; a brother, Coy Morris; and sisters, Jeanette Morris and Becky Haddock.

Left to cherish his memory is his long time companion, Nancy Reio of Ahoskie, NC; two sons, Clifford “Skip” (Angela) Morris of Ahoskie, NC, and Robert Michael (Tina) Morris of Maryland; a daughter, Patricia Marrie (Melvin) Jones of Ahoskie, NC; a granddaughter, Tiffany Marrie Clark of Harrellsville, NC; three grandsons, Robert Allen Barnes, Jr. of Como, NC, Troy Nicholas Barnes of Ahoskie, NC, and Robert Michael Morris, Jr. of Pennsylvania; two great grandsons, Tristan Lee Terry, and William James Barnes; three sisters, Hazel Elizabeth Conner of Roxobel, NC, Janie Nichols of Ahoskie, NC, and Penny (Richard) Harrell of Ahoskie, NC; and three brothers, Horace Leander (Rose) Morris, Sidney L. (Joyce) Morris, and Rufus (Kathy) Morris, all of Ahoskie, NC.

An outdoor Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Troy Bordeaux officiating.
