AULANDER, NC – Barbara Lee Byrum Wall, 77, of 105 Bruce Farmer Road, Aulander, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
Mrs. Wall was born in Chowan County on May 3, 1942, and was the daughter of Ora Lee Byrum of Hobbsville and the step-daughter of the late Les Jones. A member of Ahoskie Free Will Baptist Church, she had served as the church secretary and treasurer for many years, and had worked with Ahoskie Christian School where she taught Home Economics and was head of the Day Care.
In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband of 60 years, Stanley Lee Wall, Jr.; two daughters, Elaine Pool and husband, David, of Aulander, and Karen Edwards and husband, Mike, of Gallatin, TN; a sister, Faye Hollowell and husband, Wade, of Hobbsville; six grandchildren, David Pool (Mary Catherine), Beth Walser, Kaitlyn Pagola (Javier), Chris Edwards (Emily), Kristen Barrineau (Jason), and Courtney Pierce (Aaron); nine great-grandchildren and one due to be born in November; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. in Winton Baptist Church Cemetery, and will be conducted by her son-in-law, the Rev. Mike Edwards and by the Rev. Josh Butler. Friends may join the family at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Ahoskie Christian School, 500-504 Kiwanis Street, Ahoskie, NC 27910, or to Welch College, 1045 Bison Trail, Gallatin, TN 37066.
